Thank you to all my loyal supporters, volunteers, contributors and especially the 24,215 voters that believed in my candidacy. Although we did not get enough votes to win, words cannot express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to run for an At-Large seat on the Boston City Council.
As many know, over a year ago I sat in a bed after just receiving the news that I had a brain tumor. I pledged to myself that night that I would - after over 10 years of working in public service for other elected leaders - follow my own dream to run for office.
Yesterday, may have marked the end of the campaign, but not my efforts to make our great city even greater. As Ted Kennedy once said, “for all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.”
Gratefully yours,
ANDREW KENNEALLY
At-Large Boston City Council Candidate
