Biography

Andrew is a proud, life-long resident of Boston who was born and raised in West Roxbury and now lives and owns a home in East Boston.

He is the youngest of five kids.  His mother is a nurse in the Boston Public Schools, his two brothers are Boston Police Officers, and four of his cousins are Boston Firefighters - including the 1st woman firefighter of Boston.

A graduate of Catholic Memorial High School and UMass Amherst, Andrew possesses a masters degree in Ethnic Conflict from Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland and another in Urban Affairs from Boston University.

Andrew has over a decade of experience in public service with over four years  in Washington, D.C., beginning with U.S. Congressman Joe Moakley, and over five years serving on the Boston City Council for two At-Large City Councilors.  While on the council, Andrew amassed a record of accomplishments.

Andrew is also a community activist who co-founded and directed a non-profit organization for five years called the West Roxbury Public Safety Coalition.  Apart from monthly safety seminars for seniors, the organizations received praise from parents for its successful campaign to combat substance abuse.

Andrew represents a new generation of leadership with the knowledge, experience and vision to help us through these tough times and make our great city even greater.
